Mozilla Firefox seems to be spamming me? HELP Every time I go to my e-mail Mozilla Firefox keeps redirecting me to one of there ads,at least that is what it says on the bar at the bottom. It happens every 5 mins. and it is driving me crazy. Help with Mozilla Firefox and cookies? I am a user of Mozilla Firefox, and yesterday afternoon, it stopped letting me log onto the MySpace website. Anytime I type the address into the search field, it tells me the following: "The page isn't redirecting properly. Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete. This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies." I have checked the cookies, and everything seems to look alright. Nothing looks any different than it ever has before, and so the problem is becoming very frustrating. However, I am not extremely experienced with cookies, and wondered if there is something I'm overlooking. Can anybody help me with this problem? Thank you. I've tried going to the site through Google. Also, I have tried adding the site address to the 'exceptions' option under Tools. It still gives me the same error page.
Mozilla FireFox and Myspace Karaoke? I am having problems with Myspace Karaoke on Mozilla Firefox. Everytime I click the link, it redirects me to Myspace home page (even if I have logged in beforehand). Does any body have the same problem? How can it be resolved?
My mozilla firefox is stuffed up i open it ! and it takes me to another site except google help? How to set firefox for direct download ? On some sites with media direct download, when i use mozilla firefox, instead of downloading the file, it redirects me and it's waiting for the video to load (as if i want to see it online). This problem is only with firefox, but with other browsers it downloads normally. How do i fix this ?
Help me please, about Mozilla Firefox I think something is wrong =(? When i try to input the word "google" on the address bar of my Mozilla Firefox, I am expecting that it would be redirected to the google search page, which is very usual. But this morning, when I tried to do so, it happened that when I put "google" on the address line, it will give me a message that goes like this: _________________________ File Not Found Firefox can't find the file at jar:file:///C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox/chrome/en-US.jar!/locale/browser-region/region.propertiesgoogle. * Could the item have been renamed, removed, or relocated? * Is there a spelling, capitalization, or other typographical error in the address? * Do you have sufficient access permissions to the requested item? _________________________________ I don't know what this message all about, and do you think it's serious?
Why does my browser get redirected? I'm using Mozilla Firefox 3.5 Beta and some of the Google searchs I click on get redirected to a different site. I did a full scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and it hasn't found anything.
Internet explorer + Mozilla Firefox problem - Browser Hi-jack? My problem only happened a couple days ago, just out of no where. When I click a link, the page refreshes and redirects to an advertisement website or something. It happens on any link I tend to click. This is happening both on Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. At the moment, I'm using Google Chrome to type this. I've ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware on safe-mode and removed any viruses and this problem still has occurred. If anyone could identify what this problem is and how I could fix this, this would be helpful. Sorry I don't have much more information to give, I'm pretty new to computers and don't know much about it.
How do I get domain guessing back on mozilla firefox instead of aim search? When i downloaded aim it added loads of rubbish to mozilla firefox. I managed to get rid of most of it by uninstalling various things however one thing still doesn't work, which is the domain guessing feature in mozilla. When I used to type something, eg. 'yahoo answers' it would automatically redirect to answers.yahoo.com or whatever, now it just does an aim search. It's really irritating and I can't get rid of it. Anyone know how I can fix it? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080530193207AAIkMRn I read this answer which seems to be quite helpful however the url doesn't work for me when I change it. Could someone possibly confirm this is the correct url to replace it with??
How do u stop sites from being redirected? When I search for something online the site begins to load but then it gets redirected to another site. This happens about 50% of the time I do a search. Or sometimes it loads the site but then also opens another tab or window by itself with another random site. Sometimes it loads to a site that is very similar, while other times it just loads to random sites that have nothing to do with what I typed in the search engine. Also sometimes out of nowhere sites pop up on my computer when I wasn't even using it. Also sometimes I hear movie trailers playing through my speakers but no program is even open on my computer. Sometimes I just hear random weird music on a loop. And programs just minimize or close by themselves. My computer also just restarts by itself occasionally too. Also ages ago I somehow heard through my speakers like teens laughing & making weird noises like they were drunk & I had nothing open on my computer. Limewire also used to open by itself randomly as well, but for some reason limewire has stopped doing that now. This problem has been going on for about 6 months, & I have spent so much time trying to fix it. No matter what browser I use (IE8, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome) it still happens. I have tried countless different antivirus & antispyware programs & NOT ONE will get rid of this problem. About 2 months ago I also got an expert to format my hard drive & reinstall windows xp sp3. That was cuz I had countless other problems with my pc too. The other problems were fixed, but this one problem still persists even after the format & reinstall. It doesn't matter what I type in the search engine, or what site I go to it still gets redirected or other unwanted stuff pops up as well. Even just now a few seconds ago while typing this up something just popped up on it's own, a site - datingwithoutdrama.com. It's just random stuff coming up. I know that was a lot to read but I just need to how to fix this. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Mozilla Firefox - Do I have a Virus? I've had Firefox for around 3 years and since about 2 months ago, whenever I go on Firefox, after around 5 minutes, this firefox thing pops up and says something like.. you are experiencing a problem? and then asks me to report the problem "Debug", "Don't Send", "Send" Happens to me alot, and I always have to constantly go on and off my firefox. And then when i search something on google and click it, it loads a bit and brings me (Redirect) to other advertising pages. It's really pissing me off. How can I get rid of this gay problem?
Firefox tech problems? I seem to have some trouble connecting to the internet using Mozilla firefox, troubles that I haven't had working with Firefox in the past. My connection is fine, both msn and yahoo messenger work properly. I downloaded the recent update about 3 days ago and that was when the problem started. I deleted it off my computer just a little while ago (like an hour or so...) and re-downloaded it, and still, it says it can't establish a connection. I am using internet explorer right now...thats what msn goes thru when I check my hotmail, yahoo redirected with firefox... So whats the problem? I have a firewall thru AVG and it alerts me everytime something tries to access the internet (like Blizzard Entertainment downloads and such). it hasnt alerted me yet that firefox is tring to access the net
How do I get my Internet Explorer browsing again? I have the the Internet Explorer 6.0 version. I had been browsing with it alongside Mozilla Firefox for a while without problems, but when I installed Opera, it just quit on me. I uninstalled Opera hoping to fix it that way, but it's still not working. Now other programmes which apparently use it to get online (Yahoo Messenger, Realplayer) don't work anymore, and I can't get them to redirect through Firefox. SOS.
Google redirect me to a whole different link? I'm using mozilla firefox, and every time I tried searching on google and click on a link, it literally redirect me to a whole different site. I don't think I have a trojan because I scanned like 3 times on 3 different scanners. The weird thing is when I'm using internet explorer, it doesn't do this. What do I have to do to stop getting redirected when using firefox?
I have these viruses? My computer does not list them on my control panel in add/delete programs. I can not figure out where they are located to get rid of them. We tried to set the system back to an earlier saved date and that did not work. I have spy bot and it identifies them but it can't eliminate them. I tried using combofix too. It got rid of some stuff but not this virus. My stupid brother was surfing Uporn and picked this thing up. The only reason I can tell I still have it is because spy bot identifies it, and sometimes when I am browsing it redirects mozilla firefox to some pay me for protection from viruses site. I am not a computer guy. I posted a question like this earlier and the only answer I could understand well enough to utilize told me to restart my computer in safe mode and then run combofix. I also understood the answers that told me to return my computer to a previous saved point. I am running windows xp. Does anyone out there have a suggestion? I have tried several free virus programs and none have worked. My computer is running really slow. My other brother now has this same virus on his computer too. I keep getting signs about the IP address. I am connecting to the internet through an unsecured wireless network of one the businesses neighboring my home. Any information and suggestions will be appreciated. I am not a computer guy so if your gonna tell me to do something you gotta tell me how to do it too. Thank you for your help. What should I beware of here? Will these viruses steal my passwords to my bank if i pay bills online? The viruses that spybot will not eliminate that it lists are called "Fraud.WindowsProtectionSuite" and "Microsoft.Windows.RedirectedHost". What do these Viruses do and how do I get rid of them? I have tried the Anti-Maleware application and it doesn't get rid of the problem. I have tried a system reset too with no luck.
How can I get rid of google redirect virus for good?!? I've tried most of every anti virus known to man and even the best out there. They still can't fish it out. This is so aggravating arghh! How can I get rid of this?!? I can't sign into either my gmail or youtube and any google search is redirected to something else. I tried resintalling mozilla firefox but nothing happened. What can I do? Blondie I tried that 3 times, malware couldn't find anything either.
Does anyone know how to make Google the search provider for firefox? I recently installed the megaupload toolbar and since then, whenever I type in things in the address bar for mozilla, I get redirected to a Yahoo search. Before, if I typed in something like wikipedia, I would go directly to wikipedia. I uninstalled the megaupload toolbar, but whenever I type things into the address bar, I still go to a Yahoo search site. Any ideas on how to get rid of this and make it go back to normal? Thanks in advance.
How do I get CyberSitter to stop blocking Facebook? Up until recently my computer has been disconnected from the internet, because I got a Mac. I set up my Windows again and connected it to the internet. I downloaded Mozilla Firefox, but when I try to go to Facebook or my space, something called Club Cyber Sitter redirects me to warn me about the dangers of such sites, and keeps me from viewing any pages on those websites. How do I get it to stop?

How to make a certain site redirect to another site on YOUR browser? I use Mozilla Firefox. How do I make it so that if I type in certain URLs, they will redirect to another page (I want to play a joke on my friend) ;) No lmao. My friend plays this game called Moshi Monsters (stupid), I want to make it redirect on MY browser to say "Moshi Monsters has closed down due to legal issues" or something like that ;)
How do I add a pop-up blocker to my website? I have many java-script popups on my site. How do I add a pop-up blocker to my website to prevent any pop-ups or javascript popups from coming up? I have added many inline frames on my Frontapge 2003 links page. I have linked those inline frames to many websites. Some of those websites have pop-ups and javascript popups so yahoo toolbar or Mozilla Firefox can't even get rid of those kinds of popups. So how do I do it? How can I stop these popups for coming up so everyone can't see them and the popups get destroyed? NO I AM NOT USING A FREE WEBSITE. Like I said before. I have many inline frames in my links page and those inline frames redirect to other sites, such as toplists. Some of those sites have popups and they popup on my links page. But these popups are javascript popups and regular popups. What is FULL HTML code for this? Thanks!!!!
Why am I being redirected? I have the free version of AVG, it's not picking up any viruses or anything, but I keep getting redirected when I type in an address(not all, I first found it when some of my rocketdock icons started to disappear and tried to go to the website rocketdock.com and get redirected) now it has gotten to where anytime I try to do something it says file not found and I know the sites are there. Also, I use Mozilla Firefox. I have tried to go to www.malwarebytes.org but it tells me that the file is not found so I can't go there.
why does my computer keep redirecting me to another site? i use mozilla firefox and internet explorer. usually when i search something in google then click on a link it opens it in the tab i've already got open. but now it opens it in a new tab and redirects me to some other site. will uninstalling then reinstalling it work?
Is this a virus? I keep getting redirected...? My girlfriend tried to download photoshop cs2 off of limewire a few days ago, and unfortunately, my laptop was bombarded with a crap load of viruses. Thankfully, my Norton 360 fought all of them off. However, ever since it happened, all of my searches (google, yahoo, etc) are being redirected to spam sites. These same sites are popping up in extra tabs while I'm on the internet at all. It is so frustrating. I have tried multiple scans, etc. If it is of any importance, I use Mozilla Firefox and have Windows Vista
In Internet Explorer (6 and 7) I get redirected to http:///? No, I am not typing too many slashes, I am not making a mistake. There is something in the IE settings that is causing any web site I put in the address bar to redirect to http:/// and never get to an internet page. The internet is active, I can remote into the computer from another location, the emails update, they can see their network drives and Mozilla FireFox works to get to internet pages. This is strictly an Internet Explorer issue. I removed IE7, tried IE6, same trouble, re-installed fresh IE7 with same problem. No spyware detected, no viruses detected. The computer has been rebooted and defrag'd. The problem is not a normal technical problem. Any ideas? Oh, I forgot some stuff someone is going to ask. I can ping web addresses no problem, and if I put an IP address in the address bar it does not go to the internet. I checked hosts and lmhosts and saw absolutely no entries. I've tried adding the DNS and WINS that are set for the site, I've tried only DNS, and only WINS. I'm really pretty sure that if I were able to cover all those other facts in my troubleshooting thing to work that I am more than likely capable of setting a default web site. I am not having trouble setting things, I am having trouble getting to ANY... ANY internet sites while using Internet Explorer.
When a website won't open, why do I see Error Lander in Firefox with Yahoo! Toolbar? I'm using Mozilla Firefox with Yahoo! Toolbar. When a website won't open, it redirects to a website called megaclick.com which offers me other search results related to the website. The title of the website is "Error Lander" or "Internet Explorer can't open the website." The page offers VAGUE instructions on how to remove this. Type the URL below to see for yourself (may not work for all) http://www.megaclick.com/notfound/?lg=en&type=dns&tbtype=megaup&q=http://w3.ibm.com/virus/zlid/20031001 If you know how to remove this, tell me and thanks in advance!!!!
Browser Hijacking/redirecting? My roommate made a file in system 32 that makes it to where when i type youtube in mozilla firefox im redirected to redtube the porn site. he refuses to fix it and i really would like for it to be gone. he said its in system files and specifically in system 32, i believe he is telling the truth. if anyone could help i would really appreciate it. i had already run antivirus and and spy sweeper antispyware. i just put a password on so he cant do it again. but he said its not a program but just a redirection of the ip which he looked up and that if i delete the file it will go away
Is there a way to have firefox open up a page like IE? I realize pages render differently with Firefox than they do with IE. However I was wondering if there is a setting or some sort of add on for Firefox that allows you to add certain sites that do not work well with Mozilla Firefox, to some sort of list to have them loaded with IE's standards. One site that I particularly have problems with is yourmp3.net which redirects me to the main page, when I try to download a file. I would rather not have to open up IE every time I want to download a song. Okay I narrowed it down to my Tab Mix Plus add-on that was preventing me to go to the download page. Why would this particular add-on bring me back to the home page of http://www.yourmp3.net?
My firefox keeps crashing and my internet is explorer is messed up...how do I fix them? Everything was working fine and all of a sudden my internet explorer and my mozilla firefox started to crash every time I attempted to open them. I made a big mistake and uninstalled my internet explorer and when I did all these viruses and trojans popped up because my AVG virus protection was now disabled. So I went into safe mode and ran my AVG scan and it put all viruses and trojans and tracking cookies into the vault. After that my internet explorer was working and I am able to access the internet, but there are still some problems. When searching on google if I click on a link it redirects me to a different site. Also, certain add-ons cause my internet explorer to crash still. how do i fix this?
How do I remove redirectsoft from my computer? Today I turned on my computer, and about every twenty minutes or so I will get the same exact pop up that shows me a search engine site. Also, whenever I google search something, every single result when clicked will redirect me to a website such as shopica.com or info.com or a couple other strange search sites. How do I stop this from happening? I have tried clearing my history including cookies and have uninstalled and reinstalled Mozilla Firefox(the browser I am using) but nothing has worked so far. Any suggestions?
When I try to open my mail it says that the server redirects the request in a way that will never complete.? I receive the message above (that my request is redirected in a way that will never complete) when I use Mozilla Firefox. But I can use the messenger and My Yahoo! (here I can even see what mails I have received, but I can not open them). It also says that this problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies, but I haven't changed any setting recently and I have no virus on my computer. What should I do to be able to check my e-mail again?
What the heck is going on all of a sudden with me being redirected to different websites? Ive been noticing the last day or so that when I click on a link from google to myspace or urban dictionary or cd universe or some other well known site i will be taken to a page like Yellowbook.com with pizza shop listings or some healthcare website and its really perplexing and annoying. Is this some kind of virus because i shouldnt have a virus with Kasperskys latest antivrus software installed especially since i aint been notified of any virus threats. Is google just screwed up lately? I use Mozilla Firefox but I dont think that has anything to do with it k good to know im not alone on this. Tried the hijack this and deleted a few things that were clearly redirect things but im still havin those redirect problems. Just curious if ne knows what someone could possible gain from this besides retarted shameless advertising. Its like advertisement rape.
How come when I don't even use the internet I keep getting pop-ups? Even when I disconnected the cable, I still get pop-ups but instead of an advertisement they say "Page cannot be displayed". They just come out of nowhere & I wasn't even using the internet! I have Mozilla Firefox & Internet Explorer. Only the Internet Explorer has the popups, even though I put it on "High: Block all pop-ups" When I use Mozilla, pop ups appear on the Internet Explorer page When I use Internet Explorer, pop ups appear on the Internet Explorer page. I can't win! What's also strange is usually when I try to go to a new page, instead of going to that page, I get redirected to a page that's advertising that I should download this spyware scanner thing. It ALWAYS goes to that damn stupid page! What the heck is wrong and how can I stop this mania? I have spybot search and destroy, and AVG. I did scan, there was some crap, that I deleted. But it hasn't changed the original problem. I have the free versions & I don't think they'll let me update
My Homepage for Firefox? So everytime i start up firefox, two tabs pop up http://en-us.www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.0.8/firstrun/ and http://www.aol.com/?src=aim now i went to tools > options and tried to change the homepage address and even show no tabs when i startup firefox but everytime i restart firefox it still redirects me to those links how do i change this?
m.yahoo.com If I go to www.yahoo.com in Mozilla Firefox, it redirects it to the new updated Yahoo --> "m.www.yahoo.com" Anyone know how to change it back to the regular yahoo.com, because in Internet Explorer or on my Mac, they go to yahoo.com not m.www.yahoo.com
Why do I keep getting redirected to fake online virus scan websites? I use Mozilla Firefox if that helps. I keep going on different websites and I sometimes get redirected to fake anti-virus online scans. There's always an alert that comes up and says something along the lines of "You're computer might be infected! Use our online scan to see if you have viruses!" and to avoid having to click anything, I push the power button on my computer for 3 seconds to do a forced shutdown. I've already scanned my computer for viruses using AVG, so could it be just the websites that are infected and redirecting me? Is it something in my computer? Is there any way to tell if a website will redirect me to a fake scan site?
i think someone is hacking me? my internet browser (mozilla firefox) keeps redirecting to other websites. like for example i type in "youtube" and the searches come up... i click a result and it goes to an ad website. how can i stop this? i really think someones hacking my computer. i tried running my scanners such as malwarebytes, avg, superantispyware... nothing was found. i did find some trojan using superantispyware about an hour ago, i rebooted but the internet problem was still the same. but im mostly concerned becuz if someone IS hacking my computer i have pictures on here u know of myself, they will see them and its my personal stuff. maybe im wrong though, maybe it happens not only to me.but not only that it gets annoying,it goes to different sites.what can i do?

I've provided a thorough list of troubleshooting steps below. I apologize in advance because it's long and technical. I'm hopeful that with your help, we can fix the problem. If, after trying these troubleshooting steps, you're still having trouble with your Yahoo! Mail account, please take just a bit more time to reply to this message with further details about what you tried and your results. Now, on to the recommendations! SIGN ON AS AN ADMINISTRATOR Please make sure that your computer account has administrative privileges and that you're signed in as the administrator. This is especially important if you're in a work or shared computer environment. If you're not sure, please check with your computer vendor or Help desk to verify your computer privileges. If you already have administrative privileges, let's move on to the next recommendation. USE A SUPPORTED INTERNET BROWSER Let's check out your browser. Most issues with Yahoo! Mail can be resolved quickly by ensuring you're using an up-to-date Internet browser. You can also try switching to a supported alternate Internet browser. Please check out the list at the Yahoo! Help web site below for supported Internet browsers: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/errors/errors-19.html Did updating or switching to a supported Internet browser help resolve the issue? I hope so! If not, please move on to the next recommendation. CLEARING YOUR CACHE Let's try clearing your browser cache first. We've found that this usually takes care of a lot of issues. When you need to clear your cache, follow the instructions below for your browser and version. * Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows 1. Choose "Internet Options..." from IE's Tools menu. 2. Click on "Delete" under "Browsing History". 3. Click on "Delete All" at the bottom, and choose "OK" if prompted. 4. Click the OK button at the bottom of the Internet Options window. 5. Close and re-start your browser. ENABLE JAVASCRIPT JavaScript is a simple programming language that's essential to any modern Internet site. Without JavaScript enabled, the Yahoo! Mail client may not perform as designed. To fix this, make sure that you have JavaScript enabled. Here's how: Internet Explorer 7.0: 1. From the "Tools" menu, click "Internet Options." 2. Click on the "Advanced" tab and then in the "Settings" list, scroll down to the "Security" section. 3. Select the "Allow active content to run in files on My Computer" check box. 4. Click "OK." 5. Click "Apply." 6. Click "OK." 7. Close and relaunch your Internet browser. Did enabling JavaScript in your Internet browser help resolve the issue? If not, please hang in there with us as we move on to the next troubleshooting recommendation. INSTALL THE LATEST JAVA RUNTIME ENVIRONMENT The Java Runtime Environment contains essential updates to the Java programming language, developed by Sun Microsystems. To ensure you have the latest package installed, try downloading and installing the latest version of this software. It's available as a free download here: http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Did installing the latest Java Runtime Environment correct the issue? If not, don't give up hope -- we'll get this figured out yet! Let's move on to the next recommendation to help identify the issue. TEMPORARILY DISABLE ANTIVIRUS/ANTISPY/FIREWALL PRODUCTS Maybe one of your security applications, such as your antivirus, anti-spyware, or firewall products, is causing a problem with your Yahoo! Mail. To see if this is the problem, please temporarily disable your security software to see if the issue goes away. 1. For most security software products, you can right-click on the security software icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, by the system clock. This will usually pop up a menu with "Preferences" or "disable" as an option. 2. Try to change one of those options to see if the issue goes away. Please note: In some cases, you might not be able to completely disable the security software. The directions for each security software package differ from vendor to vendor. If you need help, please get in touch with your security software vendor or computer Help desk. After disabling your security software products, did the issue go away? If not, please try the next set of recommendations. DISABLE INTERNET BROWSER ADD-ONS/PLUG-INS Each Internet browser comes with optional upgrades or enhancements commonly known as "add-ons" or "plug-ins." These features make your Internet browser more useful. Common uses include (but aren't limited to): " Toolbars " News or Stock Tickers " Instant Messaging " Weather alerts " Email alerts " Antivirus/Antispy " Games Certain add-ons or plug-ins can actually cause problems running some web sites. To find out if this is the case, please try one of the following tasks for your specific browser: If you're running Internet Explorer 7.0: 1. Close out of all instances of the Internet Explorer internet browser. 2. Select "Start", "Settings", then click "Control Panel". 3. Double-click on "Internet Options". 4. Select the "Advanced" tab. 5. Under "Browsing", remove the "Enable third-party internet browser extensions" check box. 6. Relaunch the Internet Explorer internet browser. Once you've successfully disabled your Internet browser's add-ons or plug-ins, try accessing your Yahoo! Mail account again. If the steps above fix the problem, this will confirm that an add-on or plug-in in your Internet browser is the culprit causing behind the problem. To re-enable the Internet browser add-ons or plug-ins, simply repeat and reverse the steps listed above. Once you've figured out which add-ons or plug-ins are causing the issue, please contact the vendor for help. Did disabling your Internet browser add-ons or plug-ins resolve the issue? If not, thanks for all your patience in trying these recommendations. Let's try one last step below. TRY ANOTHER COMPUTER WITH A DIFFERENT ISP If you've tried all the steps listed above and the issue simply won't go away, I'm pretty sure the symptoms are related to your computer, Internet browser, or your Internet service provider (ISP). If it's possible, try accessing your Yahoo! Mail account from another computer at a different location. You should also try a different ISP to eliminate that as a possible factor. IF THINGS ARE STILL NOT WORKING Hopefully everything's working smoothly now. If things are still bumpy, please take just a bit more time to reply to this message with further details. Be sure to specifically include which steps you've tried so far, and the results from each step. This information will help us assess the issue more effectively and efficiently and hopefully figure it out once and for all! Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Mail. Regards, Harley Yahoo! Virus Infection! My google searches keep getting redirected to sites such as Shopzilla and Bizrate.? I have tried everything. I've run Combofix, Malwarebytes, Avast, Superantispyware, Gooredfix, and nothing seems to locate the problem. I may have discovered the offending file, or at least what it is doing. In the directory: "C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data", a folder with a Hex key name appears with files inside labeled: chrome.manifest, install.rdf and a folder named Chrome with other files within. This also generates a Registry key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions with the same Hex key name. Deleting both only respawns them with a different hex key name. Scanning the folders yields no results from any scanning program. Normally I've been able to eliminate most viruses from my system and those at work, but this one won't quit! Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks! (Note: This also seems to happen solely in Firefox) Just now remembering, I've also used CCleaner and Spybot to try and locate the problem. HijackThis has also yet to show me anything malicious. EDIT: I hate to be rude, but I'm not looking for people telling me to "google the problem", surely that's the first option. Second, I've also tried System Restore, I don't have a clean point. Third, please read what antivirus programs I've used already as many of you are suggesting items I've already tried. Thanks for the effort though!
Why does my Google searches redirect most links? Almost every time I use Google to search for something I would click on a link that appears and it would just redirect me to some random site. Now it doesn't happen on every link but 4/5 it will redirect. Direct url address's and url copying works but Google links just redirect. I use IE7, Mozilla Firefox and Safari and they all do the same thing. I have run several spyware, adware and Norton 360 2.0 scans but none of them have found anything.
Can't Sign In To YouTube? I can't sign into YouTube on Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, but it works on Apple Safari. Anytime I try to sign in on Chrome or Firefox it redirects to YouTube.com with no sign in. But with Safari it works fine. Anyone else has this issue & knows how to work around it? Thanks Now all my browsers fail to sign in properly. They all have the same problem with no matter how many accounts I try. I go to http://YouTube.com & try to use the sign in button. It goes to this page https://www.google.com/accounts/ServiceLogin?service=youtube&hl=en_US&passive=true<mpl=sso&uilel=3&continue=http://www.youtube.com/signup%3Fhl%3Den_US%26warned%3D%26nomobiletemp%3D1%26next%3D/ then redirects to YouTube.com with out signing in. That link I just posted is normally supposed to go to this page: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/2820/untkitled.png but no longer does. Anyone can help please? This is very frustrating now.
I'm having this problem about these PerfSpot.com popups. Help please!? Please help me! Lately pop-ups of PerfSpot.com are frequently appearing on my pc everytime I open a web browser. It's worse when I use Mozilla Firefox because when I close the popup, it triggers firefox to be redirected to the PerfSpot website! In Internet explorer the popup just opens. I don't close the popups anymore because they just keep reappearing anyway in both browsers! I didn't notice when or how it happened but lately it has become real annoying. I think my system is slowing down because of this. I don't want to lose my files! Help please!
Browser Hijacker? Hi everyone! I went to yahoo and searched on the term "Naruto" and clicked a link that was "www.naruto.com" and then all of a sudden it redirected me to this website called www.monstermarket.com." Do i have a browser hijacker? If so how do I remove it without downloading any software? BTW, my brother in law said I have a browser hijacker because he was the first to discover it. I did the same routine on mozilla firefox but it didn't redirect me. It just went to naruto.com but, not on internet explorer. Oh please help me!!! Spy Sweeper didn't even detect the browser hijacker so I don't know if I even have a browser hijacker on my computer!!! One more thing, I never use internet explorer, just mozilla firefox.
Problem with Internet Explorer? Easy 10 pts for computer literate people!? I got a virus off of Explorer a few months back and I had to completely wipe my hard drive clean and start over. Now I use Mozilla Firefox now. It's much better. My problem is that recently I accidentally opened Explorer and now pop-ups from Explorer keep popping up - typically ads and unwanted websites. It's completely random. I don't use Explorer, EVER, I use Firefox... it's just ever since that one random time that I opened it. How can I BLOCK explorer, period? I have tried uninstalling explorer by going to add/delete programs, I have gone above and beyond to try to get rid of the thing. Is there any way to at least redirect it so that Firefox is my default browser and so that Explorer isn't activated at all? Please, please help. skaizun - aww, come on, are you going to report me for violating those rules or something? I am aware of the rules/regulations, I was just being a human being... :(

There is site named pdfchm and we can download books if we are the member, I have downloaded many technical books from that site and when i try to download i cannot download when i click the download link it redirects to some xxx site. I cannot do any thing or find any technical stuffs. I even installed spyware terminator and cleaned all the bad cookies now and then, even then i get the some error. My internet explorer also not working and i tried to browse using mozilla firefox, but it gives lots of error. My computer is all of a sudden "Strange". ....? I always use Mozilla Firefox as my default internet browser, but recently I went on google and searched for something and I clicked on the wikipedia site/link and it redirected me to a website with pop up windows, and ads and all that crap. So I tried it again but a different search and the same thing happened. So I tried Safari web browser and it worked normally, nothing redirected, it went to wikipedia like it was supposed to. And now my computer is acting unusually slow and freezes constantly. And every 45 minutes I hear a clicking noise coming from the speaker. Could there be something wrong with my computer? Do you have any advice or do you know of this strange behavior?
The risk of browser Hijack? Is it safe to leave the hi jack alone? Getting rid of it seems to be more of a hassle, if it isn't a risk and is just of annoyance- I'm fine with keeping it. The website that I am redirected to through a Google search is "copy-book.com" which redirects me through 2 over sites, which are some random IP, and then I'm given a random search engine with the same search I've asked or random web page. This has infected my Mozilla Firefox. I have K9 Web protection enabled to block this hi jacked site from being used, so when it happens- Error - press back on browser - re click google link. I notice when I load the Google front page, it accesses data from "copy-book.com" Which is where the redirection probably begin when a link is clicked from the search. I've scanned my comp with spybot, ad aware, AVG & Nod32. So I think the exe / spyware is gone, just the result of the hi jack remains? Thanks. Mark

Google & Yahoo Linking me to the wrong sites.? Hi, Recently (about a week ago) google and yahoo have been acting up for some reason for me. When I try to search, I'll click on a link and it'll go to somewhere like MySpace or a search engine that looks suspicious. It happens when I try to search for just about anything. Even if I know that the particular website, it'll direct me somewhere else if I google/yahoo it. I use Mozilla Firefox & Internet Explorer. The problem is on both browers. If its anything to do with it, I keep getting this message as my home page on Firefox: (it was oringally google) Redirect Loop Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked. The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete. * Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site? * NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is probably a server configuration issue and not your computer. Firefox and internet explorer haver also slowed down alot since this began.

Mozilla not working, HELP!? My Mozilla Firefox is not working. I can't get it to load a page if I type in, for example, "youtube" in the adress bar and click enter, it will say "cannot connect" and says something about cookies being disabled. But the cookies are enabeld! And it also has problems, if I google something, click on a link, it redirects me back to the same page, only in a new tab. And it never opened new tabs before, but now, whenever I click a link, it ALWAYS opens a new tab, annd if I click on a link in there, it opens ANOTHER ONE!!! ARGH!! I hate using internet explorer, and I want my old mozilla back =( Any suggestions? PS: I tried modifying some small things in this thing that you type into the adress bar; if you type in "about:config" in the adress bar, you can change firefox setings, I think. I saw a video and I did some changes to try and make firefox load faster (its what the video said) and maybe that has something to do with it? RE: I already tried uninstalling and and reinstalling, even tried going back to 2.0 from 3.0.7

Ad-blocking settings or extensions with Firefox? I've got the latest version of Mozilla Firefox on my Mac (OS 10.4) and the pop-up blocker is working fine, and the pop-under ads I don't mind cause I can just close out of them when it's convenient. Even banner ads or talking ads or 'floating' ads annoy me mildly, but not excessively. The thing I'm really hating and wanting to get rid of are the ads that have a redirect hidden in the page, so you click on a legit link, you get sent to that link, but then suddenly some kind of ad in the page sends you to some pornographic 'dating' website (and as a female, I'm really put off by it, and I've managed to not allow Firefox to load the images but the constantly being redirected is still infuriating) and when you click the 'back' button on the browser, it happens all over again. So, is there some sort of add-on, extension, or even hack that might work to stop this, or at the very least some sort of setting that I can turn on that will ask me if I want to be redirected? I'm pretty sure it's not a worm or virus, because it doesn't happen on the websites I spend well upwards of 90% of my time on. It's usually only 'new' (to me) websites because I try to avoid them when I discover they have ads that redirect like that, and it seems to be more prevalent on less well-funded sites (ie, it never happens on Facebook or Yahoo! or my email, but it happens when I'm looking for something on Google and going to all kinds of random sites). I'd also happily block the 2 or 3 websites that seem to be behind this redirection tactic altogether, but again I'm not sure how to do this on a Mac (although I'm pretty much an expert at it on Windows) Alright, so I figured out how to stop Firefox from redirecting automatically, but it still doesn't work all the time. It's great for this one facebook application, but not so great for two or three other websites I used to go to a lot.

Spyware / Hijack question - what does this mean? I have a very nasty issue when I'm using internet explorer. It will redirect me from my yahoo mail to a site that looks like a google site but says something about a 'ad.yeildmanager'. When I'm using Mozilla Firefox this doesn't happen to me ~at all~. Instead, when I'm using Mozilla Firefox in my Yahoo Mail where the ads usually load it says 'Cannot Load Ad.Yieldmanager' but it keeps me at the same page. What does all of this mean? Does anyone know? Maybe not razor sharp about computers - but ask me a question about literature, grammar or early ed, lol :P And for the record, I have AVG, Ad Aware and Spybot all on my computer, nothing is catching this bad boy!!
Would you trust this online site [Adrive.com] for backing up saved files (Here are the FAQ's)? Why have I not received my confirmation email yet? It is recommended that Internet Explorer's information/download bar be disabled and ActiveX be enabled. How can I upload multiple files or directories (folders) at once? * This tool requires Java. If you do not see an upload tool, please make sure your browser has Java turned on. * This tool will upload directories. Simply select a directory and it's contents will show in the list. Each file will show the directory tree that file is in. Example: foo/bar.txt will be uploaded to a folder "foo" in the current server directory. If you haven't already created that directory on the server, this tool will create it for you. * You can drag and drop files onto the applet to add them to the upload list or you can use the add button to browse your files. * Some virus protection software 'proxies' the connection and will show the upload as 100% done even though the proxy is still sending the data to the server. Please be patient and let it run. It will refresh when it is completed. How can I find out about new features of ADrive? Click on the News section to view the latest news about ADrive. Who do I contact for technical support? For all general questions, feedback, help-related and support issues, please email us at support@adrive.com Who do I contact for press and news information? Click the "Forgot Password?" link under the "Login" button on the homepage and follow the instructions to correct this. How can I automatically backup my data or my entire computer? Coming soon! What is the upload limit on a single file? At the moment, the largest file size that can be uploaded is 2 gigabytes (2048 megabytes). How do I upload my files via File Transfer Protocol (FTP)? ADrive only allows upload via the ADrive web interface. How do I get more than 50 gigabytes of storage? Please email support@adrive.com. How do I modify a file after it has been uploaded? Utilizing our partnership with Zoho®, ADrive now offers the ability to edit Word and Excel files online. Click the "Edit" button next to the file you would like to edit, make all your changes, and then save the file before closing the Zoho® program. Keep in mind this service is only available to edit Word and Excel files. For other file types, you would need to download the file to your computer, make the changes, save the changes and then upload the file again. Is it possible to stream the media (music, video, etc...) I have uploaded from ADrive? Not at this time, no. Which file types can I upload to ADrive? All file types. Follow the instructions on this page to locate files on your computer that you wish to upload to ADrive. Once the upload is complete, you will be brought back to your "My Files" tab where you can download the file or share it with others. ADrive does not install software on your computer. In both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, it can be found in the Internet Options section. Can I share my files? If so, how? After uploading a file, you will have several options to the right of the file. One of them is "Share". This will move the file to your "My Shared Files" tab and a unique web link will be generated that you can share with anyone on the internet. All they have to do is open the link to download your shared file. Why am I getting the error "Only 'basic' authentication is supported"? This will typically happen when trying to upload a file(s) while behind an internet proxy. ADrive has no control over the proxy you may be using so to remedy the problem, the proxy will have to be disabled temporarily to upload a file(s). My upload reached 100% but, the files are not showing in "My Files". What happened? This can occur when using an internet connection that is behind an internet proxy. It can also occur with some antivirus and firewall programs that have built in proxies or browser redirect services such as McAfee Redirector Service. The solution is to disable these services and try the upload again. To do this in Windows: Go to Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services. Then highlight the "McAfee Redirector" service and right click. Exercise the stop option in the resulting menu and also disable the automatic startup of that service in that same menu. (No reboot is required.) Why haven't I received my email for ADrive? Example: account confirmation or forgot password email from support@adrive.com. To ensure you receive email from ADrive, please add support@adrive.com to your email's personal address book. This will help it through most email filtering systems. I am having trouble with the Java based upload/download tool. What can I do? It is recommended you first try clearing your Java cache. Instructions on how to do this can be found here- http://www.java.com/en/download/help/5000020300.xml Can I use download managers or accelerators? ADrive only supports download managers that are packaged with the browsers we support. ADrive does not support download accelerators. Will my ADrive account ever expire? ADrive does not delete nor expire any confirmed accounts. Also, your current ADrive account will not be affected after we leave our Beta version. With the launch of version 1.0, you can upgrade to one of our new storage plans once you are signed in to your account.http://www.adrive.com/info/faq ***Sorry it's so jumbled up & long-winded, but I had to copy & paste it so the info would be RIGHT there. & I also gave the option of clicking on the URL. Exact same info. But would you trust this as a backup file site? Or would you fear your files being hacked or missing? ***I'm using this right now because my computer DVD+RW drive is missing because there's a Trojan.Zlob I can't get rid of that destroyed my computer's registry. Why does my internet homepage always end up at the bottom? The "Yahoo" word is at the bottom of the page and the scroll is out of control. When it finishes loading, the page is scrolled at the bottom. I have to scroll back up every time I open the Internet Explorer browser. However, when I use Mozilla Firefox, Yahoo loads properly. I have registered on a web site, but cannot log in.? I have registered (twice) on a web site forum, and cannot get logged in. I have checked cookies, they are there, I have gone to the tools section of the Mozilla Firefox browser I am using and entered the website to be allowed access and cookies. When I log in, I get a screen that says "Welcome (user name)" and then redirects me to the forum section. But when I try to post a question or comment it takes me to the log in screen again. Any Ideas?? Hi, I registered, and they send a welcome email. There is no activation needed. I registered the second account on my daughters computer, and could log in, and make posts right away.( I don't want to be using here computer, not that she would let me) all the time for this web site. Oh, also I did contact the sites administrator, and he reset my password, and when I tried it, I couldn't log in again. Same old story. Problem solved. I use Mozilla for one web site so I can use the reply feature, and when I switched over to Internet Explorer I was able to get on the web site in question and post. Thanks for the help.

Wow is my computer being HACKED??? At random times, mostly annoying ones. But my computer is telling me someone is trying to hack or hijack my system, the funny thing is it even does this when i'm offline. 4 different pop ups come up, first a red labeled one saying someone is trying to hack me through the internet, then one comes up saying it has found a bad virus or something and if i click ok then it will install software to get rid of the severe virus. Then after that one comes up saying it will redirect me to a anti spyware and adware site for download, Then lastly an Explorer window pops up. But my default browser is set to Mozilla Firefox, which is the BEST!!! Now recently on my PC i scanned with Ad-Aware and found 45 critical objects after i installed the program the pop up offered. Now it keeps bothering me and it is REALLY ANNOYING!!! what should i do. This yahoo answer thing really helped me before, but i don't know how to reply to answers. So anyway what should i do? Any suggestions??? Well how can i stop the pop ups? and i scanned with 3 different programs and the pop ups are still coming up and it's REALLY annoying. How can i get them to stop popping up?
